Spirit of Fruitfulness Bellydance

Sue I have been a bellydancer since 2003. When I’m not dancing, I am a full time mother to four children and happy wife to a very patient and supportive husband.

In deciding I needed to develop an interest that was just for me, not anything to do with home or family, I saw an advertisement for belly dance classes and signed up for something I thought would be frivolous and not at all ‘worthy’ or self improving in any way.

I was wrong! There is a depth of culture, technical expertise and musical heritage of which I am only just beginning to scratch the surface! Best of all, I found bellydance to be great fun, even as a raw beginner, and I found it addictive, in both the dance and the music.

My tutor was the very experienced Georgina, and with her generous support and encouragement I have been able to spread my wings and learn to fly!

I also attended a variety of workshops in order to gain a much wider base of experience and expertise and i also started learning to play the Darabuka (an Egyptian Tabla drum).
